Spray foam removal and full re-roof
Diss, Norfolk
October 2026
Stripped from the outside, down to the rafters
New breathable membrane and new treated battens
New concrete interlocking tiles, dry ridge
Why the roof came off
Spray foam in a roof hides the timbers and stops the roof breathing, and plenty of lenders and surveyors will not touch a house with it. Scraping it out from inside the loft never gets all of it. Taking the covering off from the outside is the only way to clear the lot and see every rafter properly, so that is how we did it here.
Stripping it back
The scaffold went up with full edge protection, the old covering came off a section at a time and the foam was bagged as it came out, with the team in protective suits. With the roof open we went over every rafter while it was in plain sight, so the homeowner knows exactly what is holding their roof up.
Putting it back properly
Breathable membrane went across the whole roof so the loft can breathe again, then new treated battens set to the right gauge. The roof was re-covered in new concrete interlocking tiles and finished with a mechanically fixed dry ridge, so there is no mortar to crack and fall out. The work carries our 10-year workmanship guarantee.
