Cleaning comes first, always
There is no point coating over moss and dirt, it just seals the problem in. So every coating job starts with a proper hand scrape and soft wash to get the roof properly clean, plus a moss treatment so it does not grow straight back. Only once the roof is clean and dry do we coat it. Skipping the cleaning is how cheap coating jobs fail within a year.
What coating does and does not do
A good coating restores colour, helps shed water and adds a protective layer that slows down moss coming back. What it does not do is fix a leaking or failing roof, and any honest roofer will tell you the same. If we look at your roof and think a repair or re-roof is the better spend, we will say so. We would rather give you straight advice than sell you a coating you do not need.
