A run of new pantile roofs
Red pantiles are what most of Norfolk was roofed in, and they are still the right answer on most of the houses we work on. This is a set of re-roofs we finished earlier this year.

Why the gauge matters
Setting out is the bit nobody photographs. Battens have to be spaced so the tile courses climb the roof evenly and the last course lands properly at the ridge, rather than leaving a narrow cut course at the top that looks wrong and lets weather in. Get the gauge right at the eaves and the rest of the roof follows.
Pantiles suit Norfolk for a reason
A pantile sheds a lot of water for its size and copes well with the wind we get coming in off the coast. It is also what the neighbours have, which matters more than people expect. A house re-roofed in the wrong covering stands out on the street for the next fifty years.
